Recommendation
The 3CX Telephony Advisor will provide hardware and software recommendations to meet your telephony needs. It is a useful tool for organizations that would like advice on what hardware and software is required to implement an IP PBX Server.
Suggested products, along with links to Vendors where they can be purchased, will be listed on the Recommendations tab. These recommendations are dependent on the information you provide and include devices and services tested with 3CX, but are not the only options available.
Please answer each question as accurately as possible, as the final recommendations are dependant on accurate input. If any of the questions are unclear, please click the "?" icon located on each tab for additional information.
Either physical telephone lines or Voice Over IP providers (e.g., Inphonex, Broadvox, etc.) are required to receive incoming calls or to dial out through 3CX. Please Note: physical telephone lines require a VOIP Gateway to convert to IP, so that they can communicate with the 3CX server. If you elect to utilize physical telephone lines with 3CX gateway devices will be included in the final recommendation.
I presently have, or plan to have physical telephone (PSTN) lines that I want to use with 3CX
I do not have physical telephone (PSTN) lines that I want to use with 3CX
Choose between standard analog telephone lines or digital telephone lines.
My physical phone lines are standard POTS (Plain old telephone system) lines
My physical phone lines come in on a digital circuit (ISDN PRI, T1, etc...)
If you are not using VOIP providers, the number of telephone lines you elect to use with 3CX will dictate the number of telephone numbers you can receive and make calls on.

Enter the number of extensions you require.
SIP telephones are highly recommended, as they are designed to communicate directly with an IP PBX server like 3CX. If you select this option, SIP hardware telephones will be included in the final recommendation.
How many telephone extensions do you require?
Include SIP (hardware) telephones in the recommendation
Voice Over IP Providers allow you to make and receive calls over the Internet. Popular VOIP vendors include: Broadvox and InPhonex. VOIP providers communicate directly with the 3CX server, so additional hardware devices are not required.
If you select this option, VOIP Service Providers will be included in the final recommendation.
I want to make and receive telephone calls using a VOIP Service Provider (Broadvox, InPhonex, etc...)
I do not want to make and receive telephone calls using a VOIP Service Provider
Include VOIP Service Provider in recommendation
Your feature requirement selections will determine which version of 3CX and support package will be included in the final recommendation.

Devices such as analog telephones and fax machines, can often be connected to the 3CX server; but they also require Analog Terminal Adapters (ATA's) to allow them to communicate over IP. These adapters can add an additional layer of complexity to your configuration.
It is recommended that you utilze SIP compliant devices whenever possible, as they tend to provide better performance and are often easier to configure.
I have analog devices I want to use with the 3CX server (Analog Telephones, Fax Machines, etc...)
I do not have analog devices I want to use with the 3CX server
